Fuchsia Machu Picchu

by Joachim Cooder

Fuchsia Machu Picchu has a relaxing easy going sound to it.
Of course there is a Beefheart connection here, with Joachim being the son of Ry Cooder who played with Captain Beefheart for a brief period in the 60's.
Ry left Captain Beefheart shortly after a stage performance at The Mount Tamalpais Festival in June 1967 when Don Van Vliet hallucinated a fish head on a woman in the audience. Don fell off the stage and landed on their manager.
It was the only time that Ry was on stage with the band. Favorite track: Because The Moonlight.

Joachim Cooder Los Angeles, California

When surprises this sublime fall out of the sky, there is no other response than to shake the head in wonder and say "thank you." These songs have a cosmic-edged center to them that takes all of Cooder's many adventures, wraps everything in a big bow, and delivers them like a really early holiday present. There is a playfulness that goes way beyond anything else being recorded today,. B. Bentley ... more
