Fuchsia Machu Picchu

Fuchsia Machu Picchu has a relaxing, easy going sound to it.
The songs are played at a gentle pace and sung (and played) beautifully.
Of course there is a Beefheart connection here, with Joachim being the son of Ry Cooder who played with Captain Beefheart for a brief period in the 60's. Ry left Captain Beefheart shortly after a stage performance where Don Van Vliet hallucinated a fish head on a woman in the audience. Don fell off the stage and landed on their manager. That was it for Ry. Favorite track: Because The Moonlight.

Joachim Cooder Los Angeles, California

These songs have a cosmic-edged center to them that takes all of Cooder's many adventures, wraps everything in a big bow, and delivers them like a really early holiday present. There is a playfulness that goes way beyond anything else being recorded today,. B. Bentley ... more
